Quick report, a very strange year with not much racing or organised training going on.
The club did manage to put on 3 races at the start of the year, Grim Reaper, the new tough Vale of Ewyas and and old classic PCC.
Training resumed when restrictions allowed, and out of the lockdown period the club had a healthy number of new members.
Going forward, we hope for more races and training in 2021 than this year.
A big thank you to all the race organisers, training coordinators, junior and senior, and for all those who keep things going behind the scenes.
Fingers crossed for a safe and sporting 2021.
Total funds available to spend: £4584
Increase in funds this year: £883
(Minis have £908 in funds)
We have had 16 new members since Feb 2020. Some are old members that have come back, others are completely new.
45 members have renewed in Jan 2021 so far. Please send your membership over asap if you intend renewing this year.
Only one change, with James Scott voted in as Men's Captain.
We are looking for volunteers to take over the Membership Secretary and Treasurer roles, if possible, though the current incumbents are happy to continue for the time being.
The administration of membership has become a significant task now numbers have risen. The committee and webmaster will look into updating the website and costs involved with making a managed membership system so that more is automated, to reduce work involved.
As a club we are very keen to start up the club runs, races and social events as soon as we are able to and safe to do so. Once we have the go ahead runs will be advertised on the training page and website.
We hope to hold a club championship this year if able to do so even if it is a reduced version. The committee will discuss and arrange this once racing becomes possible again.
The beginner's monthly sessions were very popular in 2019 and we hope to run these again in the summer if restrictions allow.
James Scott will have the club vest and buffs available to purchase as soon as races and weekly runs are going ahead for anyone that wants to purchase kit. Please note all payments must be made via bacs no cash payments. www.Ruggerbug.co.uk do all the other club kit available which can be purchased online through their website.
Rona is hoping to start long Sunday runs again, when allowed.
