Mynydd Du

Fell and Mountain Running Club

The AGM was held after the Mynydd Llangorse Race.

Helen Brown has offered to take on the black mountain fell race with the help of the club.

Possibility of 2 new races this year. The Goodrich fell race could be brought back to life by Helen Brown and Paul Tucker is looking at doing a race from Abersychan.

Funding - The club has recently received approx £1000 for training. This was mostly spent on first aid and an ML assessment. We wanted to get some people on the LiFR too, but no courses currently running. So when we apply for future funding LiFR course will be prioritised and a new club tent!

London marathon - It was asked if the club had any places however i explained that the places are allocated on the number of registered member we have and currently as none of our members affiliate through MD we have no places. Also we are a fell club ;-)

Coaching - the club is looking to start up a more regular beginners group once we have some lighter evenings.

Speed-work/hill reps - club to look at starting speed-work or hill-reps on a different evening.

Secretaries report

Members on the increase. Lots of interest from different areas. Facebook, at races, word of mouth etc. The club is really booming.

Election of Officers

All to stay the same other than Andrew Dickens stepping down as Chairman and Tom Mollekin taking on that role.

Other business

Club champs - format changing to replicate that of the WFRA. Best 4 from 7 races to count. But at least 1 race from each must be completed. Short, medium and long.

Fees and AGM. The AGM and the payment of fees will move to the 1st of Jan or Jan. With the idea being its easier for people to remember and the club can then plan their coming year. It was also decided that the subs will increase to £10

Nav training - Paul Tucker offered to do some spring/summer nav work with the club.

Watts app groups have been increasing and we will provide a link to anyone interested in them and their topic.

2018 races - MD have a big entry for Cader, a few people in for Jura, the SWT is being trained for. Lots going on.

It was asked if the club could purchase 4 small first aid its for the hill. Im happy to purchase with other committee members approval.
